My Thoughts
A Christmas Promise by Janice Carter is part of the Heartwarming Harlequin line. This means that while it has romance, it is not overly implicated. It is a sweet romance. This book is the second in the series - however I was not lost at all. I was able to follow along. The author did a good job of making sure that all the history was recapped. In this book - we see main character Ella Jacobs return to the coastal town of Lighthouse Cove. She returns after 17 years after a tragedy chased her and her family out of town. Ella and her best friend were accused of having something to with a classmates drowning. Now she has returned and runs into Ben. He still harbors hurt and anger.
This book is a second chance. It's a book of redeeming friendships. The author has written some realistic characters. The description of the town is so real that you want to go visit it. I enjoyed this book.
I received a copy of this book through Prism Book Tours -- all thoughts are my own.
