MY THOUGHTS

My Butt is So Silly

I read this series with my 10 and 8 year old boys. This is geared toward readers ages 6-10. My boys did not have any issues reading this book out loud. This book is absolutely hysterical. We have read it several times since receiving it. This boy has an out of control bottom - and it's comical to see what kind of mischief his butt gets him into. He blames his butt for all the trouble.

We loved the pictures that went along with all the pages. They are bright, colorful and tied the writing together nicely. The book is aimed nicely at the target audience's humor. I feel all my boys laugh about is butt and "fart" jokes.

SERIES REVIEW - MY THOUGHTS ON OTHER BOOKS IN THE SERIES

I Need a New Butt! - In this one, our friend thinks he needs a new butt because he found a crack in his. He sets out on an adventure to get a new one -- and he cannot decide what one to get. Should he get a small one? A bumper one? Once that is a robot? Then he realizes that his dad's butt has a crack in it too. My boys and I thought this book was funny - My 8 year old said "Mom - everyone has cracks in their butt".

I Broke My Butt! Both of my boys stated this was their favorite of the series. Our friend has fallen off his bike and broken his butt and realized that it has gone flat. He is in a hurry to get it fixed. He decides the way to fix it is to attach a tray in it's place - and then he goes on adventures. My 8 year old stated - "Mom - you could slide down the stairs easily if you had a tray for a butt".

Doctor Grundy's Undies -- This one was my favorite one out of the series - Doctor Grundie was hanging his undies to dry and they were swept away. This is my favorite because my 8 and 10 year old have failed to remember there were times before dryers where people had to hang their clothes to dry - so it prompted a discussion on this. Doctor Grundy's undies go on an adventure of a lifetime from pirate ships, to sharks to bagpipes.

Seagull Sid -- This is a book where a group of Seagulls that are led by Sid are tired of all the humans being on the beach. They decide to take matters into their own hands and poop bomb them. My boys thought it was funny, since they have been victims of seagull poop before and are now convinced that it was the seagulls moving them along. The Seagulls reap the benefits of everyone leaving in a hurry -- and swoop in to grab everything that was left behind.
