More from Dana

Hello, readers! Boy am I excited! Since the virus-that-not-shall-be-named is being brought under control, I am cautiously venturing out again and our first vacation spot will be a return to Death Valley. Papa Bear and I love the amazing diversity of Death Valley, from the salt flats, to the sand dunes, mountains, and everything in between. Writing this book allowed me to relive the incredible topography, as well as let my mind run loose imagining a cold case that warms up to fiery levels in this ferocious climate. Part of this story revolves around “Camp Town Days” which was inspired by the Encampment Days, an event held in November by a volunteer group called the Death Valley 49ers that aims to capture the pioneer spirit with their wagon rides, parade, poetry readings, a vendor show, and historical talks. I hope you can feel the desert wind in your face and hear the distant howl of the coyote as you dive into the second book in the Death Valley Justice series.

My Thoughts

Missing in the Desert is written by the one and only  Dana Mentink. Dana is one of my most favorite authors, and it is always an honor to be on a tour that is featuring her book. This book is book 2 in the Desert Justice series. I have read book 1, however, it is not necessary to read them in order. The author will mention previous characters, but you will not feel like you are missing anything. This is part of the Love Inspired Suspense line.

In this book we see a sister who has been missing for several years. The sister is presumed dead.  Mara receives a one word text calling her a nickname that only Mara would have known. What does this  mean? Mara and her brother Seth are on their way out to a ranch that Seth and his best friend Levi have invested heavily in. On their way there, someone has their sites set on hurting Mara and Seth. They are shot at which causes them to crash. Mara feels like it is all connected to the disappearance of their sister. Especially when the suspect keeps trying to come back and eliminate both Mara and Seth.

Levi feels bad that they are attacked. He also feels bad when their parents tell Levi that they did not agree with their son and their business adventure. They did not want him partnering with Levi. They make it known that they want all of his investment back. Levi wants to find out who is responsible. Levi and Mara team up to try and bring profits to the ranch, along with figure out who is trying to silence and sabotage them.

Now with this author, she will take you on many twists and turns. So pay attention. This book will take you on a wild action packed ride. She always writes her scenery that you feel that you are there. If you are not a part of her Facebook group, you need to be. Dana is very reader friendly and always posts such fun videos and contests.

I received a copy of this book through the Celebrate Lit Blogging Program, All thoughts are my own.
