This series is written by Winter Austin. One of the things that I love about book reviewing is getting exposed to authors I may not have. Winter Austin has now moved to the top of my must reads For new releases. As soon as I started this book, I knew that I wanted to forgo every other activity and stay up late, just trying to get it finished. The characters in the story are very well written and developed. They are complicated flawed and have a past. I will say that if I was ever in a situation, I would definitely want that on my side. She is one forced to be reckoned with. She is a former army helicopter pilot and once she discharged from the army, she started to fly for the forest service. However, she had an accident and has not been 100% cleared to return to flight. She’s been assisting her mother on their Idaho ranch. Angela, her mother is another one you would not want to mess with. One day, a woman stumbles onto their land advising that someone had kidnapped her daughter. And her former army teammate, TJ, who has showed up looking for the kidnapper band together and rescue the child. However, the town of Euskadi is corrupt. The sheriff has clearly made a deal with the devil. There is a few things standing in the way of the the sheriff and his new alliance. That is Dot and Angela. This book moves at a comfortable pace, has great descriptions of scenery. I felt that I could close my eyes and see exactly what was unfolding in front of me.
