My Thoughts:
My boys and I loved this book. They are 9 and 7 and fight all the time. After we read this book they ran around with pencils pretending to make each other disappear.
In this book, Jordy is very frustrated with all the mess that his sister makes all the time. She knocks down Jordy's buildings and rips up his drawings. One day Jordy feels that Keeka has gone too far and tells Keeka "I wish you would just disappear!" When we got to this part - this gave the boys an excellent opportunity to discuss why they had gotten upset with each other.
Jordy goes to sleep and dreams about a man that gives him a phrase that can make his sister disappear. When he wakes up there is a stick behind him... What should he do?
He makes her disappear. He can enjoy the peace and quiet.
This book is well written, has strong family values, and stresses the importance of family. The pictures are beautifully illustrated. This will be a family favorite moving forward.
I received a copy of this book through the Iread book tour - all thoughts are my own.
