I am always a huge fan of children's books that have a great lesson in them. Mickey, loves to help with the farming. He is also hearing impaired and wears cochlear implants. Mickey is just a normal kid wanting to do normal kid stuff. However, when he gets his new aqua cochlear implants, everything changes. He can get them wet, he can hear everything so crisp and well. He has never been able to go swimming or play in the rain before with his previous set. I loved that this book showed that despite his cochlear implants, Mickey is just a normal kid and wants to do normal things. I read this book with my 11 and 9 year old boys, and we had a talk of how cochlear implants work. The book is well written and all the illustrations fit the story perfectly.
