My Thoughts
Expired Return is a romantic suspense that is written by Lisa Phillips. This is book one in the Last Chance Fire and Rescue series. This is a book that you will not want to put down.
Former cop, Allen Frees has had his life dramatically changed. His girlfriend, veterinary nurse, Pepper Miller broke up with him and then he was severely injured on a drug raid gone wrong. Having to adapt to a wheelchair has been his new norm. However, he is able to secure a job as a liaison to the mayor and fire department.
Pepper knows that most people in Last Chance County do not like her. They think that she broke up with Allen because of the wheelchair. She seeks help when her sister, Sage does not show up to pick up Victory, her daughter. At first, the police department does not take it seriously. Then Allen steps up and offers to help.
Allen and Pepper are then on a suspenseful adventure. Sage has clearly gotten herself mixed up with some bad people. Her estranged husband also is involved with some shady stuff. Will they be able to be survive? Can they trust each other to keep Victory safe?
