About the Book

Book:  One Little Lie
Author: Colleen Coble
Genre:  Romantic Suspense
Release Date: March 3, 2020
It started with one little lie. But Jane Hardy will do everything in her power to uncover the truth in this gripping new romantic suspense.
Jane Hardy is appointed interim sheriff in Pelican Harbor, Alabama, after her father retires, but there’s no time for an adjustment period. When her father is arrested for theft and then implicated in a recent murder, Jane quickly realizes she’s facing someone out to destroy the only family she has.
After escaping with her father from a cult fifteen years ago, Jane has searched relentlessly for her mother—who refused to leave—ever since. Could someone from that horrible past have found them?
Reid Bechtol is well-known for his documentaries, and his latest project involves covering Jane’s career. Jane has little interest in the attention, but the committee who appointed her loves the idea of the publicity.
Jane finds herself depending on Reid’s calm manner as he follows her around filming, and they begin working together to clear her father. But Reid has his own secrets from the past, and the gulf between them may be impossible to cross—especially once her father’s lie catches up with him.

More from Tanya

As a teenager, I spent my summers water-skiing on the King’s River in Central California. Even though we lived on the coast and the ocean, we traveled inland to the smooth river waters every other weekend for our sport. We camped on a sandy beach, skimmed over the water all day long and at night sat under a sky full of brilliant stars and listened to the sound of the water rippling past. Since we lived on the coast with a heavy marine layer, the amazing sky always fascinated me. Surrounded by massive cottonwood trees, with the smell of ripe fruit drifting toward us, my river experiences were different from home and more than memorable. On some nights we’d hear the splash and laughter as teenagers, somewhere across the river, came down to swim. I always wondered what it would be like to live in the nearby small, neat-as-a-pin town, to know the same people all of my life and to be able to drive down to the river with my friends on any given night. I envied those teenagers and always knew I’d someday write a story about central California. I didn’t know it would involve biological warfare and crazed killers…but that transition is another story all its own! I’ll stop here and hope you enjoy Killer Harvest!

My Thoughts

One of the things that I love about this author - is that her stories always start out with a bang. She always starts out with the action level maxed out - and it does not let up. In this book, Sassa is the main character - and is the number one target due to her biologist ties. She is very likeable and a strong woman. She is also a young mother - who is fighting to stay alive and get her killer behind bars. Jared wants to shield her and her child. He wants to make sure that she stays safe. Jared is struggling with his faith - while even during the midst of chaos Sassa is strong with hers. I love how that is intertwined in this story. Well written characters, intriguing storyline, and lots of action. My favorite type of book.

My Thoughts:
This is the first book that I have read by this author - and I loved it. She has created original and likeable characters. This is a story about second chances - about starting over - and learning forgiveness. Paige returns to her home town, with a baby - and needs to get back on her feet. She had been fired from her job at a fashion magazine. She never expected to be back in Texas.  She finds a job at an ex's dinner theater. Jed broke her heart once - and she keeps reminding herself that she needs to save up some money to leave. Will he be able to convince her to stay?
Well written characters - intriguing story line - I smiled a lot during this book.

More from Dana

Cold Case Connection was really fun to write because it’s Helen’s story. She’s an intelligent, sensitive woman who is the sister to the men living on the Roughwater Ranch. Liam is her biological brother, but she’s just as close to Chad and Mitch who might as well be blood relatives. In this novel, Helen has to relive the worst moment of her teenage life, the night when a mysterious murder occurred during a teen prank. Helen is going to have to face the past in order to preserve her future. Cowboys, a case gone cold, a coastal ranch and a whole lot of danger…I hope you will enjoy the ride!

My Thoughts

One thing that I can always count on from this author is an action packed story. ALL of her stories start out with your adrenaline pumping --- and it doesn't stop. I love seeing characters that we were previously introduced to get their own story. Helen is so sweet. She is smart, sensitive and has a broken past. What is not to love about her? Sergio and Helen are connected through an unsolved murder. They have a great connection - and they work well together. I love the Roughwater Ranch team.  Ms. Mentink always peppers twists and turns into the story that you do not see coming - and she will leave you guessing until the end.
