About the Book

Book:  Dual Power of Convenience

Author: Chautona Havig

Narrator: Christa DelSorbo

Genre: Christian Contemporary Romance

Release date: March 4, 2021

All they wanted was a happily-never-after.

When Richard Danforth inherits the family estate on Merriweather Island, he doesn’t have time to deal with it – especially not from halfway across the globe. He’s too busy working to become the world’s newest billionaire and avoiding the women who would detract him from his goals.

Enter Lyla Santana. Fresh out of Oxford University with a degree in antiques and a relationship that nearly killed her to leave, she’s eager for the isolation and treasure trove that is Danforth Hall. Lyla also is determined to avoid men at all costs. Forever.

It was supposed to be a match made on paper. With him halfway across the globe, they’d never have to see each other again.

So, what’s Richard doing on Merriweather just weeks after the wedding? And how will his arrival test Lyla’s faith, not to mention stretch their so-called relationship?

In a twist on billionaire romance and marriage of convenience, this Merriweather book kicks off a new series featuring five islands, six authors, and a boatload of happily-ever-afters.

The Independence Island Series: Beach reads aren’t just for summer anymore.

My Thoughts

On the book - If you have not read a book by this author - you are missing out. This book is part of a series written by multiple authors. I am excited to see where the series goes. Now, this author is part of a reading group/blogging group that I am a part of - and I love her wit and humor. Her personality always spills into her books. In this, we meet Lyla Santana, She is very feminist - and anti-Southern. She recently obtains a degree in antiques (which is an interesting degree choice) so when she ends up working on an island that oozes Southern hospitality. Richard the other main character is way to busy becoming a global billionaire sensation he does not have time for women who are going to distract him. He does not want to return to his childhood home - that he hires Lyla. This leads to a marriage of convenience and an adventure that they did not count on. This book made me smile and laugh. It is a sweet romance book.
The author has done a great job creating original characters. She has wrote an interesting storyline - I am excited for this multi author series. This book is a must read for any romance lover.

On the narration - This is the second audiobook that I have been able to listen to. I absolutly love her voice and could listen to her talk all day.  The way she reads makes me feel like I am sitting listening to a friend read a book to me. Her speech is flowing and fun. I love the way she read this book. She has a gift of speech. I hope to hear more from her in the future.

I received a copy of this book through the Celebrate Lit blogging program --- all thoughts are my own.
